I had the opportunity to speak with Marc Spagnuolo (The Wood Whisperer) about his new book on finishing “Finishing: it ain’t over till it’s over” and discuss woodworking and a few outdoor finishing topics. I have been listening to and watching his various podcasts for quite a few years now. You can find out more about Marc at his site thewoodwhisperer.com. Marc also has a pay site called The Wood Whisperer Guild that I am happy to be a member of.
You can get a copy of Marc’s book through his site here “Finishing: it ain’t over till it’s over”
Or You can get your copy of through amazon below

Thanks for the interview and the info. about the outdoor finishes. I should have been more clear (ha ha) in describing what I meant by a clear finish. What I was referring to is a film finish without pigment, whether water or oil based. I think I will just try what I have (Cabot Spar Varnish) and see how it holds up. If it doesn’t last like I want I may break down and get something like Epifanes.
No problem. I have used the Cabot Spar Varnish with good results in the past …. It does have some typical oil like pigment to it though.
Let me know how things turn out.
And heck … as of right now you have a 50 / 50 shot at getting a copy of the book
Hey sir, very cool interview.
I ended up listening to it and found it pretty interesting. I was part of the Wood Whisperer guild at one time but never really new how he got started in all. Was cool to get some insight on that.
Also I’ve been thinking of doing some outdoor stuff as well so it was great to get some feed back on that as well.
Keep up the great posts man!!
